The shadows we carry & The lives we live

The wheel of the world keeps turning. Sometimes things look dull, sometimes there is false comfort, and sometimes there is mistrust and betrayal. Yet, the rush of life goes on.
In some places, people wear masks of deception. In other places, there are clever tricks and fake flattery. Sometimes, deep sadness is hidden behind loud laughter. When you meet people, they seem completely at peace, but the shadows of sadness never really leave them.
On one hand, some people stay worried even when they have everything.
On some people’s beds, even the sheets and pillows seem to shine with wealth, while others sleep on luxury mattresses that feel like garbage.
Some people hold great value just by their names, like important certificates.
In this way, some people have risen from the footpaths to great palaces, while others have fallen from palaces down to the footpaths. Some remain poor even after saving all their lives, while others become rich without even trying to gather wealth. For some, their lively homes become empty deserts, while for others, a desert turns into a place of celebration. In short, everyone just ends up fitting in somewhere.
Therefore, whatever work you get in life, just start doing it and never feel ashamed of it. Do not lose what you already have by running after something bigger, or you might end up with nothing. Secure your half share first, and then you can surely go after the whole.
However, do not crush your fellow travelers on the way. The real joy of life is in walking together with others. All it takes is a generous and open heart; when you keep moving, paths will open up by themselves.
That is why Shah Sahib (the great poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai) says: Wherever you get a chance to enter, just jump in and never miss the opportunity.
Even a narrow alley will turn into a wide, open path for you; meaning, a way out will appear. Similarly, if you start even a small business, it will eventually grow big and wide on its own. Places that used to be tiny are now home to grand, magnificent markets.
Consider someone who received a piece of barren, useless land as their family inheritance. They stayed quiet and patient. Later on, main roads were built through that land, fixing all their problems and fulfilling all their past and future needs. The poor of yesterday become the rich of today! Meanwhile, the arrogant rich of today can become the poor of tomorrow.
Time rules over everything, and nothing is guaranteed. Therefore, leave your doubts behind, step out, and hold on tight. Wherever you can plant your feet and stand firm, consider that place your own.
